About Katherine

Dr. Katherine Robertson is a clinical psychologist licensed in California (PSY34656). She provides therapy to individual adults and couples. Her approach integrates evidence-based therapy principles and aims to center your unique goals, values, and strengths.

Dr. Robertson has deep experience in the delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for a wide range of mental health disorders and symptoms. She has worked in the psychiatry departments at Stanford University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, giving treatments for depression, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, grief, chronic pain, relationship concerns, and more.

Dr. Robertson also has intensive experience in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through past roles with the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system and a postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Langone Health’s Military Family Center. She is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.

Outside of her work with Summit, Dr. Robertson works part-time as an embedded therapist in the OBGYN/Women’s Health Clinic at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara. In this role she supports women across the lifespan, including those experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression, the effects of trauma, perimenopause, menopause, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and more. She greatly enjoys this work and the opportunity to support women and couples through major life changes and milestones.

Dr. Robertson is passionate about increasing access to needed mental health care among underserved populations in the Bay Area. As such, she is also serves on the Board of Directors for Access Institute for Psychological Services, a low-cost community health clinic in San Francisco.

In her spare time, Dr. Robertson loves music and being outside in nature.
