About Dr. Sara Krasner
Dr. Sara Krasner is a clinical psychologist licensed in California (PSY33225). She provides in-person and telehealth therapy to individual adults, couples, and families who are struggling with a range of human experiences, including PTSD and trauma, anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, substance use, relationship difficulties, and women’s health challenges, including perimenopause and menopause transitions. Her warm and friendly approach is grounded in evidence-based psychotherapies and integrates somatic practices that address the ever-changing relationship between the body, mind, and environment. Dr. Krasner enjoys a balance of humor and seriousness in therapy and strives to flexibly and collaboratively tailor treatment to the interests, preferences, and goals of each client
Dr. Krasner specializes in therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation, Motivational Interviewing and Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention, and various other harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches for substance use, including nicotine and tobacco use. When working with couples and families, Dr. Krasner pulls from modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Invitation to Change (previously CRAFT), and Structural Family Therapy to explore relationship conflicts and deepen connections with one another.
In addition to her work at Summit Psychotherapy Center, Dr. Krasner volunteers as a certified Rape Crisis Counselor and Medical Advocate with a local organization dedicated to providing resources, support, advocacy, and education to people and communities impacted by sexual violence. Outside of work and volunteering, Dr. Krasner enjoys hiking, weightlifting, reading, and exploring the beauty, beaches, and bakeries of the Bay Area.
