Who we are

Summit Psychotherapy Center Inc. (“Summit Psychotherapy Center,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates this website at www.summitpsychotherapycenter.com. Our office is at 611 Veterans Blvd, Suite 200, Redwood City, CA 94063.

This policy explains what this website collects and how we handle it. It also covers the campaign landing pages we operate at getcare.summitpsychotherapycenter.com.

This is a website privacy policy. It is not our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which governs the health information we maintain as your treatment provider. To request that notice, contact our office.

Please do not send health details through this website

Messages sent through the contact form on this website reach us by email. Email is not a secure or HIPAA-protected channel. Please limit what you send to your name, your contact information and a general note about what you are looking for. Save anything clinical for a phone call or your first appointment, where we can protect it properly.

This website is not for emergencies

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. We do not monitor this website around the clock and cannot respond to urgent or after-hours messages here.

Information you give us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, a subject line and a message. Submissions are delivered to our practice email inbox. We use them to respond to you and, if you decide to move forward, to begin scheduling.

If you contact us through our campaign landing pages at getcare.summitpsychotherapycenter.com, your submission is routed to Go High Level, our practice management system, which operates under a signed HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with our practice.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this site and the hosting and security services behind it record limited technical information when you visit:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages requested and the time of the request
  • The referring website or link

This information is used to operate the site, protect it from attack and troubleshoot problems.

Analytics and advertising

This website does not use Google Analytics or any other general-purpose web analytics tool. Given how sensitive mental health browsing is, we have deliberately left it off.

We do run advertising. Our campaign landing pages at getcare.summitpsychotherapycenter.com load Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking so we can tell which ads lead to inquiries. Those signals report that a form was submitted or a call was placed. They do not include your form answers, your contact details or any health information, and we do not target advertising based on health conditions. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings.

Third-party services

This website relies on the following third parties:

  • Hostinger: website hosting
  • Wordfence: security firewall and malware scanning, which inspects and logs request data including IP addresses
  • Google Fonts: typefaces are served by Google, so your browser’s request discloses your IP address to Google
  • Google Maps: the map on our Contact page is served by Google and is subject to Google’s privacy policy
  • Trustindex: displays our public Google reviews
  • WP Mail SMTP: delivers email sent by the website
  • Go High Level: form processing and practice management for our campaign landing pages, under a signed Business Associate Agreement

Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies for basic functionality and security. It does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Our campaign landing pages at getcare.summitpsychotherapycenter.com do set advertising cookies, used by Google Ads to measure conversions from ad clicks. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how parts of the site work.

Mobile and SMS messaging privacy

Summit Psychotherapy Center operates SMS messaging programs to deliver inquiry follow-up, appointment-related, and account information to consenting patients and prospective patients. The following terms apply to all SMS data:

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and appointment scheduling, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except for aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.

SMS opt-in data is collected only when you actively check the SMS consent box on a Summit Psychotherapy Center form. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. You can text HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Standard CTIA guidelines (5.2.1) are followed.

For the full terms governing our messaging program, including how to stop or restart messages, see the SMS communications section of our Terms of Service.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only with the service providers listed above, to the extent they need it to run this website and our practice, and where the law requires us to.

How long we keep information

Website inquiries are kept only as long as we need them to respond and to maintain ordinary business records. If you become a patient, your clinical record is governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and by California and federal record-keeping requirements, not by this policy.

How we protect information

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information you provide against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and information submitted through our forms is encrypted in transit. Form submissions are routed to Go High Level, which operates under a signed HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with our practice. Access is limited to workforce members who need it in order to respond to your inquiry or schedule your care.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we work to protect the information you provide, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete information, subject to legal and clinical retention requirements
  • Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP
  • Opt out of ad personalization through the Google link above

Health information we hold as your treatment provider is governed by HIPAA and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. Depending on the circumstances, California law may give you additional rights over personal information that is not part of your clinical record. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through it. Parents and guardians inquiring about care for a minor should contact our office directly.
