About Emily
Dr. Emily Livermore is licensed clinical psychologist in the states of California (PSY 32910) and Wyoming (872) providing individual psychotherapy in person and via telehealth.
Dr. Livermore provides individual psychotherapy to adults with a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties. She tends to focus on acceptance and getting in touch with emotions, while simultaneously facing fears and taking action steps towards clients’ values, all at the service of living a more rich and fulfilling life.
Dr. Livermore is a certified provider of Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She is also a certified consultant of Prolonged Exposure. She specializes in other evidenced-based psychotherapies including Dialectical Behavior Therapy-Prolonged Exposure, Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Complex PTSD, Written Exposure Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
In addition to her work at Summit Psychotherapy Center, Dr. Livermore is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Stanford Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences working in the PTSD, DBT, and general outpatient clinics. She contributed to the development of the DBT Trauma Program and Stanford and she is an active member on that team providing DBT-Prolonged Exposure and DBT for Complex PTSD. She is also developed and currently directs the triage, assessment, and treatment matching in our DBT Clinic. Lastly, she recently participated as a study therapist on a CPT research study at Palo Alto University for people with co-morbid PTSD and BPD.
Outside of work, Dr. Livermore enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her dog, who might occasionally make an appearance on camera.
